The Crisis Text Line (CTL) has drawn some very interesting preliminary results from over 5 million text messages sent back and forth so far. For example, teens who reach out to CTL experience peaks in suicidal thoughts around 12, 7 and 8 pm. CTL uses this data to improve their responses to those in crises and hopefully save, or at least improve, more lives. They have put together a fun, interactive website with some of this open source, anonymous data. Play around, look out for intriguing or counterintuitive correlations, and leave a comment with anything you'd like to share!
